Quartz Dabber

A quartz dabber is made from quartz crystal. This is accomplished by the process of adding quartz sand into borosilicate glass as it is heated and formed into shape, Quartz is an extremely hard and strong crystal that can withstand much higher temperatures than glass without quartz mixed into it. 

Titanium Dabber 

A titanium dabber is made with titanium, a very durable and corrosion-resistant metal that is very lightweight but still maintains the strength of high-test steel. Its anti-corrosion properties make it a better choice than a dabber made of metal more prone to becoming corroded. 

Glass Dabber  

A glass dabber refers to a dab tool made from borosilicate glass. While not as strong and heat durable as the quartz mentioned above dab tool, it still functions just as well. Be aware that dabbers constructed of borosilicate glass will be more prone to breakage from heat and more likely to shatter if dropped. 

Ceramic Dab Tool

A ceramic dab tool is constructed from a material called ceramic. The material used in ceramics is non-organic and is mixed with silica to give it strength. Ceramic has a very high heat resistance of 1,800°F - 3,000°F. This high heat resistance makes ceramic an excellent material for a dab tool. 

How Do I Use a Dab Tool? 

Using a dab tool is somewhat self-explanatory. When it comes to vaping concentrates, you can use it with either a dab nail, quartz banger, E-Rig, or any other device that you choose. Use the side most appropriate to the size and consistency of the selected dab. Once your nail has cooled, and it is time to drop your dab, use the tool to place your concentrate into your desired source of dabbing and allow your product to melt off, smear, and drop in. Place your carb cap on top, and you are ready to inhale. 

How Do I Clean My Dabbers?

Dabbers require some maintenance to stay in their best condition. Not cleaning your dabber tools properly will leave them sticky and easily attract dirt or other material to the sticky remains. To make your dabber look brand new, wipe it off with a paper towel and isopropyl alcohol to remove any excess material. Alternatively, you can melt the leftover concentrate with your torch for no longer than 3 seconds, then wipe your tool clean. 

Can I Use Anything as a Dab Tool?

Yes, but should you? No. When in a bind, stoners can become highly inventive. However, using a random object as a dab tool could contaminate your concentrate, be harmful to your dab nail or even cause the tool to give off unhealthy elements when exposed to heat. You should always use a designated dab tool, preferably one made of quartz, glass, or titanium, that you will use exclusively for dabbing. 

Is a Dab Tool Necessary?

Without a dab tool, you are left with very few options of how you will get your concentrates onto your desired method of dabbing. This makes properly dosing extremely difficult and can lead to mess and waste. Having a dab tool as part of your dab setup is highly advisable. 

Does a Dabber Come With a Carb Cap?

Some do, and some don’t. If a dabber has a carb cap feature, it is almost always at the opposite end of the tool part itself. People prefer these as it is a much easier process to simply flip your dab over and use as a carb cap instead of having to separately pick up and manage a cap. This again comes down to personal preference for a dabber carb cap.
