Whether you own a Honeybee Herb quartz banger or not, heating a dab nail is an art. Knowing the dos and don'ts will help. The process of heating a quartz banger is fairly simple. All you really need is a torch to get started. We don't just recommend any torch, specifically a torch that uses butane instead of propane. Heating your banger correctly ensures you get a smooth, flavorful hit every time.
Properly heating your dab banger is good for a multitude of reasons. First, heating your dab at a good temp ensures no harsh hit on your lungs when you inhale. Temping your dab correctly also provides a tasty dab that isn't burnt.
Low and high temperature dabs have always been up for debate in the community, so which one is best? Ideally, low-temperature dabs are going to be your best bet.
Whereas high-temperature dabs can produce a smoke show, they are harsher, and the taste isn't as good. Low-temperature dabs ensure little waste, flavor, and a smooth finish.
Before purchasing a dab, understanding the disparities between high temperature and low temperature options can assist you.
Heating a banger is super simple and super easy.
We recommend a butane torch over a propane torch. Butane allows for a cleaner and better-tasting hit.
Propane has been known to have harsh chemicals that can be inhaled when you dab it. Propane also damages your quartz easier and faster than butane.
Butane is overall safer and the better option.
A lot of people nowadays use a temping device of some sort, whether this be a dab rite, a terpometer, or a cheap temperature gun from the hardware store. However, a temp device is not required. Before temp devices became popular, most dabbers used a heat and cool timer method. Heat for 30 seconds, cool for 40 seconds, and that is a pretty ideal dab temp.
All in all, there isn't much to heating a quartz banger, especially when it is done the right way. Aside from making sure you are using butane and properly timing your heat up and cool down, you should always be very cautious when using a torch. Dabbing at a proper temperature will always land you with a tasty, milky, smooth dab.
